Rob Rufus on Having a Right Attitude

"Don't you know that your attitude determines your altitude?".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible - Part 2" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on Suicide Bombers

"Suicide Bombers are not trying to be liked by society - they are trying to DISTURB society. That is the counterfeit. God wants to wrap glory bombs around us of the power of God and He wants us to run into the secular world and let them go".

Rob Rufus - "Mobilise 2007" - Together on a Mission, Brighton - July 2007 - from a Newfrontiers DVD.

Rob Rufus on the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ

"The only way you can fellowship with Jesus is knowing the Holy Spirit. You will NEVER experience Jesus - not even for a second - without knowing the Holy Spirit. He is the One that reveals and glorifies Jesus. It is just cerebral Bible study and cerebal quiet time talking to an absentee Person without Him. But when you meet the Holy Spirit and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, Jesus becomes the delight of your heart, He becomes the One that captivates everything about you".

Rob Rufus - "TOAM 06 - Session 1" - Together on a Mission, Brighton - July 2007 - from a Newfrontiers DVD.

Rob Rufus on the meaning of "Amen"!

"The "Amen" is a Hebrew word - the highest level of a "yes" - and the "Amen" is spoken through us to the glory of God! So as God makes a promise and we say "yes!" we kiss and connect heaven and earth and the miraculous power breaks out".

Rob Rufus - "TOAM 06 - Session 1" - Together on a Mission, Brighton - July 2007 - from a Newfrontiers DVD.

Rob Rufus on How to Begin Every Day!

"Boldly ask for baptisms of the Spirit every day! Get up in the morning and ask for more power today to invade the impossible! If I fall into sin, I don't fall from grace but into MORE grace! Jesus has enough faith that I am the righteousness of Him! Not through the Law or perfect faith - "I live by the faith of the Son of God".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on Defining "Justification"

"What does the word "justified" mean? A lot of people say "Well God looks at me just as if I had never sinned. Just as if I had always obeyed Him. And that is wonderful! But actually theologically what justification means is God gives you HIS righteousness as a gift and that is how God sees you all the time".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on "Falling from Grace"

"Falling from grace is going back under law and grasping for a righteousness that is through the law to obligate God to bless you".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on Effort and Righteousness

"If you are grasping at righteousness through the law then the promises of God will never work in your life. You won't get healed - you won't invade the impossible - you won't see the mighty powerful promises that the New Testament gives through grace. But if you try to grasp after right standing with God through your performance then you make the promises of God worthless".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on the Church and Miracles

"Why is the church not innocent with child-like capacity for great miracles? Because they don't understand righteousness. So they are grasping after it and it is making them so driven with insecurity and condemnation and they cannot work the mighty works of God and be the heirs of the world with global influence. They look at their Goliath's and run away because they don't understand covenant - New Covenant is an even better covenant than the one David had!"

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on How to Invade the Impossible

"When revelation comes to you that you are equal to God in righteousness, you stop grasping for self-righteousness through the law and know you know it is your identity (your identity is 'I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus') and when you believe that you are righteous in Christ Jesus, you find rest and out of rest you humble yourself, you obey and then you work hard at invading the impossible".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on How to Be TRULY Humble

"But those who have received God's righteousness as a gift and know that revelation will humble themselves knowing they don't have to grasp for it".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Rob Rufus on the Purpose of the Cross

"The Cross was never there so we would carry the pain of our sin or the pain of people's sins against us. In the gift of righteousness we are called everyone of us - we are empowered to live a life free from the painful memory of our sin and the memory of other people's sins against us".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - preached on Sunday 13th January 2008.

Bill Johnson on Apostolic Order and Apostolic Power

"Apostolic order without apostolic power is to be questioned. Order based on biblical principle that is lacking biblical power is tragic at best, and deceptive at worst. Order does not exist unto itself. The wineskin exists for the wine. The wine is the focus. All order exists to house God Himself – not to restrict Him, but to accurately express Him. Wineskins need to flex in order to be useful, because of the expanding nature of the wine in the fermenting process. The Holy Spirit brings constant change, and to house Him means to embrace flexibility as a way of life. The goal is not to create a perfect structure or government. It is to create one that recognizes Him, and flexes with His changes".

Bill Johnson - "Apostolic Teams" - downloaded from Bill Johnson Ministries website - Thursday 31st January 2008.

Bill Johnson on Apostles Today

"Apostles are first and foremost fathers by nature. True fathers continually make choices for the wellbeing of their children with little thought to personal sacrifice. They are not jealous when their children succeed, but instead are overjoyed because of those successes. It is normal for a father to desire his children to surpass him in every way. Brothers compete, fathers do not".

Bill Johnson - "Apostolic Teams" - downloaded from Bill Johnson Ministries website - Thursday 31st January 2008.

Rob Rufus on our glory through the cross and resurrection

"There’s no height in the Father’s glory and the Father’s love that you cannot ascend to, because there was no depth into darkness and depravity that Jesus refused to descend to on your behalf. And at the cross Jesus identified with you at your worst so that you can be identified with Him at His best. And it was through the blood of the everlasting covenant that the Spirit of God raised Jesus from the dead because His sacrifice was greater than the judgement. There is therefore now no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus."

Rob Rufus - Introductory Remarks - "Grace and Glory Conference", Hong Kong - 23 October 2007

Saturday 26 January 2008

Terry Virgo on Grace

"Jesus not only rescues us from the wrath to come, he not only forgives us our sins, but he has obtained for us a place to stand in grace, a place of total acceptance and security, fully qualified and not fearing sudden disqualification or forced removal. His credentials overcome all barriers that stood against us."

Terry Virgo, God's Lavish Grace, Monarch, 2004, p15-16

Sunday 20 January 2008

Rob Rufus on Self-Concious or God-Concious?

"If you are ovewhelmed by your troubles you are self-concious. If you are overwhelmed by the assignment of God to do the impossible then you are God-concious. If you are overwhelmed by troubles your prayers are focused on self-preservation. If you are overwhelmed by the assignment of God and it's enormity then your prayers are focused on abandoning yourself to obtaining supernatural resources from heaven to do the impossible".

Rob Rufus - "Invading the Impossible" - City Church International, Hong Kong - Sunday 13th January 2008.

Ruth Heflin on the Song of Solomon (Songs)

"As worshippers we need to get to know that great worship book, the Song of Songs. Get to know it until it becomes a part of you. After a while it will almost feel as though you wrote it. Solomon got just a little ahead of you and put it on paper. At first you may feel that you wish you had the ability to write it. Then ... you will know you could have written it because you will have the same experiences".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p111.

Ruth Heflin on Worship and the Glory

"It is worship that brings forth the glory and God's ultimate desire is that the glory of the Lord "covers the earth as the waters cover the sea". The glory will descend as snow. The praisers pray until the spirit of worship comes. The worshippers worship until the glory is manifested".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p90.

Ruth Heflin on Worship

"In worship we are focusing on WHO He is and not WHAT He does".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p87.

Ruth Heflin on the Anointing in Church

"The ministry of praise increases the anointing in the service. It increases the anointing in the individual. But the ministry of worship brings the glory. Praise brings the anointing to worship and worship brings that anointing of glory".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p86.

Ruth Heflin on Worship Leaders

"When a worship leader is concious that the anointing has built to the place that the spirit of worship comes, he should slip quickly into a little song of worship. It should be less wordy than the song of praise. When you worship, you don't need to say great things".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - pp85-86.

Ruth Heflin on the Glory and His Presence

"The glory is not in a song - the glory is in His Presence".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p84.

Ruth Heflin on the Glory Realm

"If you want to live in the glory realm then you must be a worshipper".

Ruth Heflin - "Glory" - downloaded from website; Sunday 20th January 2008 - p79.

C J Mahaney on the Holy Spirit

"When the Spirit gets hold of you, you're ruined for anything less".

C J Mahaney - From sermon notes of a former Covenant Life Church member - late 1970's.

Pete Day on Grace in Manifestations

"There is no law of blogging, no righteousness of gold dust. I would rather seek the glory and if the gold comes then that is a bonus".

Peter Day - a personal text received on Wednesday 16th January 2008.

Monday 7 January 2008

Rob Rufus on True Leadership

"I want to build myself into redundancy in this church; because that is the purpose of the five-fold ministries - is to equip and train the believers so that we become redundant in the locality."

Rob Rufus - The Joy of God - City Church International Hong Kong - 14/07/2004

Sunday 6 January 2008

Gill Patterson (NCMI) on Ephesians 4 Ministries

"The apostles governed, the prophets guided, the evangelists gathered, the pastors guarded, the teachers grounded ... A major hindrance to the accomplishment of the apostolic task in our generation is that, today these 5 gifts are either not present, not recognised, or not in harmony with each other".

Gill Patterson - "Prophecy - Foundational and Practical Insights from God's Word" - Let's Talk Magazine - (2004) - New Covenant Ministries International, USA, Australia.

Rob Rufus on Rules and Regulations in Church

"We can live and survive and not rock the boat and the establishment will think we are cute and nice and ecumenical but we will die in our beds with great regret that we did not do something that would leave footprints in the sands of human history and leave a legacy behind. That is not dramatic talk - this is the reality that beats in our hearts. There is freedom that God creates us for. You cannot keep people down because we were created to live in freedom".

Rob Rufus - "Grace-Hating Spirit 1" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 22/08/04

Rob Rufus on Truth without Grace

"Truth by itself is a very dangerous thing. Fundementalism is very crude and very harsh and it's done more damage to the world than anything else. Jesus Christ didn't just come with truth - He came with grace".

Rob Rufus - "Grace-Hating Spirit 1" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 22/08/04

Ern Baxter on Evangelism and the End Time Church

"I believe God's plan for the salvation of the nations not only involves bringing of men and women into the Kingdom of God but the stemming of ungodliness and the bringing of kingdom principles into the nation. I believe His plan is to go into a country that will unitedly bind the Strongman and blast that nation for God leaving evangelicalism by example - a witnessing community".

Ern Baxter - "Evangelism by Example" - New Wine Magazine - November 1977 - CGM Publishing Ministries - (p27).

Ern Baxter on Authentic Evangelism

"The greatest force in evangelicalism is not the gimmicks and all that goes with in in modern evangelism. The greatest force is to realise that men's souls are hell-bound by a satanic power that cannot be broken by evangelistic gimmicks and evangelistic meetings but can only be broken by the intercessors prayer and authoratative assaul of God's people who break Satan's power over unbelieving men".

Ern Baxter - "Evangelism by Example" - New Wine Magazine - November 1977 - CGM Publishing Ministries - (p27).

J C Ryle on Puritan Writing

"Their (Puritan) works still speak for them on the shelves of every well-furnished library".

J C Ryle - "Introduction" - The Works of Thomas Manton - Volume 2: pxi - Banner of Truth, Edinburgh.

Andrew Walker on Terry Virgo's Leadership Style

"Looking at the uniformity of belief and practice within Terry (Virgo's) churches prevents us from being lulled into a false sense that Terry is a soft man. He tends to get what he wants. But his public persona is courteous, friendly and open".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p333).

Andrew Walker on Terry Virgo's Ecclesiology

"Unlike many Restorationist leaders - for example Bryn Jones and Gerald Coates - Terry (Virgo) is Calvinist rather than Arminian ... Neither is it quite the principled Calvinism of John Stott (although Terry admires him). Terry's Calvinism is in the spirit of the great Puritan leader John Owen mediated through the seperatist tendancies of Dr Lloyd-Jones and the earlier evangelicalism of Charles Haddon Spurgeon".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p332).

Andrew Walker on Ern Baxter's Preaching Style

"Ern Baxter's preaching style is not in the American Pentecostal tradition at all. There is no ranting, no table-thumping, very little overt emotionalism and no shouting. He relies heavily on notes and in small gatherings favours the blackboard and other visual aids. His methadology is to build up strong arguments by means of biblical exposition and original hermaneutics. Like most of the Fort Lauderdale Five, he makes elaborate use of typology and Old Testament incidents which are then read into New Testament and present day".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p95).

Andrew Walker on Ern Baxter and Bob Mumford

"Baxter was the elder statesman of the group known as the 'Fort Lauderdale' ... they had been in existance since 1960's. Baxter and Mumford were probably were the most liked of the five. Their personalities were attractive and their manner gracious".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p93).

Andrew Walker on Ern Baxter

"Ern Baxter, who was a member of a group known as the Fort Lauderdale Five, made a major impact (on UK Restorationism). These men were involved in similar movements to the English Restorationists but their vision at the time was more fully worked out and their commitment to "church growth ministries" was much greater".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p83).

Andrew Walker on Leadership Personality

"The more insecure leaders were, the more they would invoke heavenly backing for their advice".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p187).

Andrew Walker on Leadership Abuse and Personality

"He is a mature, secure person who does not feel the need to use his apostolic authority to get his own way, ride roughshod over others or make impossible demands on members ... in the fact file I have collected on discipleship abuses, authoritarianism and insecure personalities is a dominant theme".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998) - (p187).

Andrew Walker on Terry Virgo's Essentials

"Terry Virgo thinks that the restoration of apostles is the most important and distinctive feature of Restoration".

Andrew Walker - "Restoring the Kingdom" - Eagle Publication (1998).

Gordon Fee on the Presence of the Spirit and Church

"For (Paul) the Presence of the Spirit as an experienced and living reality was the crucial matter for Christian life from beginning to end".

Gordon Fee - "Paul, the Spirit and the People of God" - Hodders (1996) - (p173).

Arthur Wallis on the Ultimate End of the Earth

"If the limit of our vision is successful evangelism or the blessing of the charismatic movement or even what we are now experiencing then the Lord is wanting to whisper in our ear; "Thou shalt see greater things than these". The fewness of God's people in a fast expanding world, the strength of the adversary, the shortness of time all call for the greatest outpouring the world has ever seen".

Arthur Wallis - "The Rain is Coming" - Restoration Magazine - July/August 1978 - Harvestime Publication - (p20).

Arthur Wallis on Omnipresence and Manifest Presence of God

"If God is ominpresent what do we mean by a visitation of God? ... When God visits His people He comes to them in a manifestation of His power and glory that is far beyond anything they normally experience".

Arthur Wallis - "The Rain is Coming" - Restoration Magazine - July/August 1978 - Harvestime Publication - (p18).

Bob Mumford on the Power of the Holy Spirit

"The Holy Spirit was given to make effective the power released through the work of Christ".

Bob Mumford - "Mantaining a Life of Worship" - New Wine Magazine - January 1975 - CGM Publishing - (p23).

Rob Rufus on Legalism in Church

"Many churches don't preach rules and regulations but the worst ones are the unstated ones because they are subtley manipulative. That is demonic witchcraft and it stops the miraculous and it stops signs and wonders".

Rob Rufus - "Grace Hating Spirit 1" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 2004-09-01.

Rob Rufus on Conformation or Transformation

"Conformation is not wrong as long as the power behind conformation is the power of transformation. If there is no transformation then our conforming will only be performing".

Rob Rufus - "Grace Hating Spirit 1" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 2004-09-01.

Rob Rufus on Revival and Grace

"Every revival has ended up crushed by condemnation. Every move of God through church history has ended up crushed in dead religious formalism because they gave in to the spirit of legalism. They formulate rules and lost their freedom through grace".

Rob Rufus - "Grace Hating Spirit 1" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 2004-09-01.

Rob Rufus on the Legacy of Parents

"Parents who do not love God with a passion are cursing their children's future in the worst possible way".

Rob Rufus - "Heavenly Churches/Earthly Churches" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 2004-07-04

Rob Rufus on Distinguishing Church from World

"Morality and ethics does not distinguish us from the world. We won't win young people by calling them to be moral and ethical! Atheists can be moral and ethical! So what distinguishes us from the world? HIS PRESENCE!! If we are not in His Presence, then there is nothing to distinguish us from the world".

Rob Rufus - "Heavenly Churches/Earthly Churches" - City Church International, Hong Kong - 2004-07-04

Rob Rufus on the Meaning of Jesus' Death

"Jesus died for us daily to experience His Presence".

Ruth Heflin on Dry Churches

"If you are attending a church where the flow of the river is not yet known, I encourage you to start a prayer meeting in your home where you can let God have His way. Make yourself available to God every day. The Lord will teach you, and you will know His hand on your shoulders in a new way in the days ahead. He will be so close, whispering in your ear, speaking into your heart, writing on your spirit ... The Lord will lift you into His Spirit again and again until rivers flow in you and through you to bless all those around you".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 96.

Ruth Heflin on Prophesying

"Prophecy is basically learning how to open our mouths and speak what God is giving us. We are moved by the Holy Ghost. Prophecy is His work, but He chooses to use our voices. He chooses to use our lips. He chooses to use our tongues ... God won't force you to, but you may if you are willing. It's possible. It's permissible. If you are moved by the Spirit of the Living God, you may prophecy".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 90.

Ruth Heflin on Prophecy

"You might ask, 'Sister Ruth, is prophecy that powerful?'. It is. This is why you need to start prophesying in the midst of the congregation and let God bring forth His Word. Let Him bring it forth into the board rooms of the Earth, into every situation where He desires to work. Let the prophetic voice, the creative flow, come forth".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 96.

Ruth Heflin on Culture and the Glory of God

"If you have been side-tracked by trying a particular method that has borne fruit for someone else, turn back to find the Lord's Presence. He is more important than a method, a system or a program. Come back to the simplicity of His Presence".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 151.

Ruth Heflin and the Glory Realm

"There is a rhythm to the glory and when we speak of the glory, we speak of moving".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 155.

Ruth Heflin and the Glory Realm

"What God wants to do in these last days can only be accomplished in the glory realm".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 92.

Ruth Heflin on Prophecy and the Glory

"Prophecy is the voice of revival. Let your prophetic voice bring forth the revival. You'll save yourself thousands of hours of vain activities".

Ruth Heflin - "Revival Glory" - 1998 - McDougal Publishing - page 246.
