"Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” - Exodus 14:15-16
God did not even say, you stretch out your hand, and I will divide the sea. But God said to Moses: “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it.” It was not an act for God to perform, but it was an act for Moses to believe for. The responsibility was not with God, it was with Moses. A weak Christianity is ever inclined to whine in prayer, while God waits for the believer to command it. In my judgment, that is the place of extreme weakness in Christian character. I feel that very frequently prayer is made a refuge, to dodge the action of faith".

Thomas Schriener on Faith
"Faith glorifies God because it looks to Him for every good gift and blessing, acknowledging that all comes from Him. This helps explain why Paul can say that "whatever does not proceed from faith is sin" (Romans 14:23)".

David Holden on New Testament Reality and Experience
"All that God has for us is to be experienced but it will only become a reality when we mix what we hear with faith. In other words it is possible to hear a lot of things but not experience them because when we hear them - we are not combining them with faith in our hearts".
Dave Holden - "Mixing It With Faith" - Newfrontiers Europe Conference - 10th May 2008.

Rob Rufus on Faith in the New Covenant
"In the New Covenant we need to understand that it is all about faith. Faith in what? Faith in what has already happened at the Cross ... many Christians think that faith is something we do to move God. But our faith does not move God. Grace moved God to act generously on our behalf long before you had faith. God had already moved at the Cross by grace to give us what we need prior to us ever having any.
Grace moved God to do everything before you ever had faith. Our faith does not make God respond to what God has already done by grace at the Cross".
Rob Rufus - "Day 2 - Session 1" - "Glory and Grace Conference in Sydney" - 27th March 2008.
