"Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.” - Exodus 14:15-16
God did not even say, you stretch out your hand, and I will divide the sea. But God said to Moses: “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it.” It was not an act for God to perform, but it was an act for Moses to believe for. The responsibility was not with God, it was with Moses. A weak Christianity is ever inclined to whine in prayer, while God waits for the believer to command it. In my judgment, that is the place of extreme weakness in Christian character. I feel that very frequently prayer is made a refuge, to dodge the action of faith".

Jerry Bridges on Praying Our Needs to God
"Think now of what you feel your greatest needs are, both spiritually and temporally. As you bring those needs to God in prayer, which would you rather present to Him as a consideration for meeting those needs; your spiritual disciplines, your obedience and your sacrifice imperfect as they are; or the infinite and perfect merit of Jesus? To ask the question is to answer it - is it not?".
Jerry Bridges - "Transforming Grace - Living Confidently in God's Unfailing Love" - Navpress (1991) - (p72).
Jerry Bridges on the Superabundance of God's Grace
"Because we do not comprehend the superabundance of God's grace and generosity, we ask Him for paltry blessings, the fifty-cent variety, when we could be drawing on the abundance of His riches".
Jerry Bridges - "Transforming Grace - Living Confidently in God's Unfailing Love" - Navpress (1991) - (p58).

Terry Virgo on Effective Prayer
"Kings have power downward and priests have power upward prevailing with God. It is through our priestly prayer ministry that we reign with Christ. Without a powerful priestly ministry, ruling is mere ambition. The priority is to reach God, then people – not the reverse".

Rob Rufus on Christianity in China
"The philosophy of the underground church in China for the past 45 years has been that everyday is a Sunday, every Christian is a preacher, and everywhere is a meeting".

Dr Lloyd-Jones on a Period of Non-Revival
"Go on with all your activities, if you wish to do so. Go on with your work. I am not saying that you should stop all your efforts and just wait. No, go on, if you like, doing all that you are doing but I do say this - make certain that you leave time to pray for revival and to see that has more time than anything else".
Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones - "Revival" - Crossway Books, Wheaton (1987) - (p210).

Rob Rufus on the Power of the Authoritative Command
"If you want to see a dramatic increase in miracles through your life, STOP doing what most of the Church is doing and praying for the sick and start releasing the power of authoritative healing commands. There is a place to pray for the sick but I can only find one verse in the whole Bible! Jesus didn't tell us to go into the world and ask Him to do what He told us to do".

Don Carson on Freedom from Rules
"Paul refuses to set up an arbitrary set of checkpoints against which Christians are to measure themselves; he refuses to erect hoops through which believers must jump. Rather, he simply prays to his heavenly Father and asks him that these believers may pursue what is best."

Rob Rufus on the meaning of "Amen"!
"The "Amen" is a Hebrew word - the highest level of a "yes" - and the "Amen" is spoken through us to the glory of God! So as God makes a promise and we say "yes!" we kiss and connect heaven and earth and the miraculous power breaks out".

Derek Prince on Intercession
"When you seek God's face you do not stop until you get into God's Presence - even if it takes all night. There is a lot of praying that is not seeking God's face - it stops short of contact with God".
