"Jesus also wants to use us to do miracles, but it will not happen unless we are obedient. We cannot argue with Him or question His judgment; we must simply commit to obey what He tells us to do. Many Christians want God to use them in a mighty way, but they are too full of opinions, questions, reasonings, and arguments! They say that they have faith, but they really don't because they will not make a move without an explanation. They want to understand everything before they do what God is telling them to do. They want to give God their
opinion. They want to tell Him why it won't work! The greatest demonstration of your faith is when you simply believe that any word God speaks to you is true; when you trust God enough to do what He has told you to do without expecting Him to reveal everything to you first; when you trust God enough to do what He has told you to do without needing to have it all figured out in your head. The things God asks you to do may not make sense to your carnal mind and they don't
need to".Rodney Howard-Browne - "Whatever He Says to You - Do It" - Revival Ministries website - downloaded 12th March 2008.

Rodney Howard-Browne on Cerebral vs Faith
Bill Johnson on True Faith and Invading the Impossible
"My faith is not just an abiding faith; it is active. It is aggressive by nature. It has focus and purpose. Faith grabs hold of the reality of the Kingdom and forcefully and violently brings it into a collision with this natural one. An inferior kingdom cannot stand.
One of the more common things people tell me when I’m about to pray for their healing is, I know God can do it. So does the devil. At best that is hope…not faith. Faith knows He will. For one who has faith, there is nothing impossible. There are no impossibilities when there is faith…and there are no exceptions".

Bill Johnson on Excesses of Many who have feared the excesses made by others in the name of faith have ironically embraced unbelief. Reaction to Faith
"Many who have feared the excesses made by others in the name of faith have ironically embraced unbelief. Reaction to error usually produces error. Response to truth always wins out over those who react to error. Some people would have no belief system were it not for the error of others. Their thoughts and teachings are the antithesis of what others believe and practice. As a result those who strive for balance become anemic. The word balance has come to mean middle of the road—of no threat to people or the devil, with little risk, and above all…the best way to keep our nice image intact".

Rob Rufus on the Control Spirit in Church
"If the Holy Spirit is not allowed to have control of the church, then man takes control of the church and the biggest leverage man has to control the church is the law - legalism - controls people to behave by putting rules and regulations and then kicking them out and punishing them if they don't line up with the taboos and laws and rules".

Rob Rufus on a Life Mixed with Law and Grace
"A mixture of law and grace, of Old Covenant and New Covenant life is a mongrel religion. God wants you to have the pure pedigree of the Old Covenant condemnation or the pure pedigree of the New Covenant grace. Have a look at people who are living under a mixture of law and grace or under law - see how miserable their lives are, see how easily they are offended, get judgemental, become weird and imbalanced. Look at people who live under grace and you see imperfect people who make mistakes but you will see an authority and authenticity and integrity in them. You will see a power in their lives, intimacy with God with a balanced life".

John Piper on the Law
"1. The Law in it's narrow, short-term design demands perfectly the 613 commandments of the Pentateuch in order to have life ... 2. The recipients of this law (Israel and indirectly all the Gentiles) are uniformly sinful and hostile to God. They do not submit to God and cannot ... 3. The effect of this law on sinful Israel when she is confronted with hundreds of commandments is the awareness of latent sin (Romans 7:7), the increase of sin by it's becoming exceedingly sinful and the multiplication of trangressions (Romans 5:20, 7:13).
4. This narrow, short-term design is expressed in Galatians 3:22 - the effect of this design of the law is to kill rather than to make alive ... 5. All of this deadly design of the law is sufficient to warrant the statement in Galatians 3:12 ... The narrow short-term design of the law is imprisonment to sin, multiplied transgressions and death".

John Piper on Radical, Grace Living
"What makes radical, risk-taking, sacrificial, Christ-exalting works of love possible is the fact that Christ's perfect obedience (counted as our righteousness) and Christ's perfect sacrifice (counted as our punishment) secured completely the glorious reality that God is for us as an omnipotent Father who works all things together for our everlasting joy in Him".
John Piper - "The Future of Justification: A Response to N T Wright" - IVP, Nottingham (2008) - (p187).
John Piper on Grace vs Law
"If we make the mistake of thinking that our works of love (the fruit of God's Spirit) secure or increase God's commitment to be completely for us now, and in the last judgement, we compromise the very reason that these works of love exist, namely to display the infinite worth of Christ and His work as our all-sufficient obedience and all-sufficient sacrifice".
John Piper - "The Future of Justification: A Response to N T Wright" - IVP, Nottingham (2008) - (p186).
John Piper on Our Only Hope For Christian Living
"Our only hope for living the radical demands of the Christian life is that God is totally for us now and forever. Therefore, God has not ordained that living the Christian life should be the basis of our hope that God is for us. That basis is the death and righteousness of Christ, counted as ours through faith alone. On the cross Christ endured for us all the punishment required of us because of our sin. And in order that God as our Father, might be completely for us and not against us forever, Christ has performed for us, in His perfect obedience to God, all that God required of us as the ground of His being totally for us forever".
John Piper - "The Future of Justification: A Response to N T Wright" - IVP, Nottingham (2008) - (p184).
