"As men honestly seek to rediscover the teaching of the New Testament and the place of the ministries listed in Ephesians 4, there will be a strong temptation to dilute our terminology with more palatable words. We could say that someone "gives counsel" into a church or is "helping it to develop". In an attempt to make it more acceptable we could talk about people having something of an "apostolic function" rather than call them apostles outright.
However if we do lose our edge we shall lose our vision and then finally lose our way. We must be honest and true to our vision even though we may have to pay the same price that Joseph paid in terms of rejection".
Terry Virgo - "The Tide is Turning" - New Wine Books (2006) - (p24).
"The man who never reads will never be read. He who never quotes will never be quoted. He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own ... You need to read" - C H Spurgeon. "To fail to learn from the pulpit of the past is to impoverish that of the present" - Tony Sargent
