"The Corinthians were to stop seeking gifts because to do so is both persumptious and purposeless".

"The man who never reads will never be read. He who never quotes will never be quoted. He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own ... 1 Corinthians 14:1, "Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy."
Dr. MacArthur has a lot of knowledge. But I really wish he would stop quenching the Spirit, both in himself and in others, with some of his teachings. :(
The devil has an interesting way of diverting people from the supernatural: either by getting believers to snuff such things out completely, or to put WAY too much focus on it instead of the Gospel of God's sovereign grace.
