"Do we delight to talk about "free grace" and "free gift"? Pharisees never do so because they realise that these terms make them out to be paupers as all others. They like to feel they have earnt salvation or at least they have made a contribution towards it. They do not like to emphasise the "freeness" of salvation".
Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones - "Romans: Assurance (Romans 5)" - Banner of Truth Trust, Edinburgh (1971) - (p256).
"The man who never reads will never be read. He who never quotes will never be quoted. He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own ... You need to read" - C H Spurgeon. "To fail to learn from the pulpit of the past is to impoverish that of the present" - Tony Sargent
